Helvetesfallet is a canyon formed by Ämån.

The canyon has about 30 meters high and steep rock walls. The canyon is overgrown with untouched forest where a large number of unusual plants are found. Among other things, there are tussocks, forest bells, several endangered lichens, wood fungi and mosses. There are also remnants from old floating devices.

Information From the parking lot down to Helvetesfallet it is about 200 m. The road down is partly steep with large stones on the path, it can therefore be quite difficult to get down so take it carefully. Go slowly.

Orsa municipality improves and secures the trail down to Helvetesfallet during the autumn last year 2022. Among other things, a staircase is being built to promote accessibility.

5 km south of Helvetesfallet is Storstupet.

Directions: Head north from Orsa road 45 about 3 km – take road 296 right towards Skattungbyn-Voxna. In Mässbacken (after about 4 km) turn left at the sign Orsa Tallheds Airport / Storstupet. Follow the road over the airfield, then signs to Storstupet and later Helvetesfallet.
