Orsa Hembygdsgård

Orsa Hembygdsgård is a beautiful and atmospheric place, with graying log buildings and nice environments.
Here you can see what a farm could look like in Orsa in the past. All the buildings are moved here from different Orsabys.

On an old farm, you needed many houses – one for each function. Therefore, there are stables, fjos (=barn), feed house, barns, a loft and several shelters. The buildings are from the 1600s, 1700s and 1800s.
However, the cottage (dwelling house), which we call Gammelstugan, is newly built on the site. It was completed in 1921.
