Pilkalampinoppi mountain, excursion destination in the Orsa forests in Dalarna
Pilkalampinoppi is located about 60 km north of Orsa after the E45. Go past Noppikoski on the E 45 and turn left towards Pikalampinoppi after about 10 km. From there, it’s exemplarily signposted. When you get to the turnpike at Pilkalampinoppi it is a walk of about 4-500 m in the opposite direction. Up there at the top, 644 m above sea level, is a fire tower from 1889. Cottage, barbecue area, toilets and a wonderful view.
Length: about 400 m up to the fire tower. The view round on Korpmägg at Stora Korpimäki is just over one km.
Terrain: Coniferous forest, wild plant at Korpimäki Nature Reserve
Take the opportunity to go a few more km and visit St.Korpimäki’s nature reserve and go up the mountain Korpmägg. Gävleborg County’s highest point, 711 m above sea level. A marked view round, yellow-painted poles, of just over a km is available to hike. The reserve was established in 1990, expanded in 2005, and it is a lovely wild forest in the area.
